DeSerres

What makes this photo album stand out? The fact that its hemp cover consists of 100% cannabis pulp! The album is made with 100% green electricity in the Goldbuch factory in Bamberg, Germany, using organic inks made from renewable raw materials. The environmentally friendly cultivation of commercial hemp in Europe does not require herbicides, has an excellent carbon footprint, and hemp paper can be recycled even better than normal paper!

It features 20 pages of acid-free, black photo cardboard and spiral binding for easy lay-flat opening. Black photo cardboard allows for successful designs, as it redefines other elements thanks to its strong contrast: a colourful photo appears much more intense on a black background. It’s ideal for adding depth to your photos.

Additional information:

Gallery frame vs. regular frame
A gallery frame is generally deeper and thicker than a regular frame. This added depth allows you to frame a gallery-wrapped or regular canvas without the canvas extending beyond the back of the frame.

A gallery photo frame with glass is also deeper than a standard frame, creating a more pronounced dimensional effect on the wall and adding depth to the displayed artwork.

What is a floating frame?
A floating frame is designed to create the illusion that the artwork is floating inside the frame rather than being pressed behind a piece of glass. This presentation adds a three-dimensional effect and helps enhance the artwork.

Floating frames are especially suited for stretched canvases. Unlike standard frames, they are loaded from the front: the canvas is placed into the frame and secured from the back. This allows the edges of the artwork to remain visible without any part being covered by the frame.

If you are looking for a gallery-style presentation for your canvases, a floating frame is an ideal choice for achieving a professional result.

What is a mat?
A mat is a piece of board, usually with a central opening, that creates space between the photo and the frame. It is suitable only for paper-based artwork, such as photos, drawings, and prints, and is not intended for canvases.

When a mat is used, glass is generally added to protect both the artwork and the mat. The terms “acid-free” or “conservation” indicate that the mat is archival quality and helps preserve the artwork by preventing yellowing, discoloration, and deterioration over time.
